Election Over …The United States Wins!

The election is over and President Obama has won a second term as our president. But the real winner is the United States of America. We are a Nation of wildly differing opinions on topics ranging from the economy …to energy policy …to marriage rights …to abortion …to the size and scope of Government …to education …to the environment …to national debt management …to taxes …to women’s issues …to immigration policy …to the configuration of the Supreme Court …to gun control …to free trade …to international conflicts …to jobs …to… But every four years we have a right to vote our interests in a national election. We may yell at each other…even call each other names on occasion…but after all the chips fall we are still one nation…a united nation of United States. Let’s never forget that!

“Tonight, more than 200 years after a former colony won the right to determine its own destiny, the task of perfecting our union moves forward,” he said. “It moves forward because of you. It moves forward because you reaffirmed the spirit that has triumphed over war and depression, the spirit that has lifted this country from the depths of despair to the great heights of hope, the belief that while each of us will pursue our own individual dreams, we are an American family and we rise or fall together as one nation and as one people.”

“This is a time of great challenges for America, and I pray that the president will be successful in guiding our nation”… “I believe in America. I believe in the people of America. And I ran for office because I’m concerned about America. This election is over, but our principles endure”… “the nation chose another leader. And so Ann and I join with you to earnestly pray for him and for this great nation.”
