Amy has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Speech, Language and Hearing Sciences from San Diego State University and a Doctor of Audiology degree from the University of Austin, TX.
After completing her academic requirements for a Doctor of Audiology Degree (AuD), Amy also completed a one year externship at Pacific Northwest Audiology under the guidance of Dr. Li, who mentored her professional development and helped her fine tune her diagnostic and clinical skills.
Having completing this vigorous academic and clinical program, Amy is now abundantly qualified to take her place with the rest of our expert Doctors, and we are more than happy to have her with us!
Dr. Penner received a Doctorate in Audiology from Pacific University in Hillsboro , OR. Her previous position was with HearUSA, where she diagnosed and treated hearing loss in adult patients. She is a strong believer in educating patients to make their best decisions.
In the hearing aid arena, Dr. Penner is well experienced in the use of Real Ear Speech Mapping, the gold standard of hearing aid fitting and a best practice utilized by Pacific Northwest Audiology. She is also proficient with all hearing aid manufacturers.
Dr. Penner enjoys spending time with her Siberian husky. She also likes hiking and kayaking. The Doctor is a talented young audiologist with much to offer. We (and our patients) are delighted that she is with us.
Dr. Woody obtained a Doctor of Audiology degree from the University of Pittsburgh, and worked in private practice for seven years before coming to Pacific Northwest Audiology.
After experiencing clinical practice, the Doctor decided that patients need to be involved in every aspect of their care, so she hunted for a clinic where she could refocus on ensuring patients are properly educated about their hearing, hearing healthcare and hearing aids.
At Pacific Northwest Audiology, Dr. Woody found a clinic that aligned with her expectations, and we found someone who aligned with ours! That’s what you call a win win win situation for her, for us, and our patients!
Amanda received an Associate degree from SW Oregon Community College, where she studied Business, Psychology, and Human Resources.
Amanda has gained considerable experience working with patients recovering from strokes and surgeries, in home caregiving, and with an on-call temporary agency, where she filled in at numerous nursing homes. Amanda also worked in long term nursing care, where she assisted dementia and other challenged patients with their medications and daily living routines.
Her previous position was with Central Oregon ENT, where she processed patient intake and exit procedures, scheduled follow up appointments, and initiated referrals for diagnostic imaging. Amanda has worn many hats during her young career and our patients benefit from her experience and caring attitude.
Amanda grew to up in Central Oregon where she developed a love for Kayaking and rock climbing.
Kristy earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Communication from Marylhurst University, founded in Oregon in 1893. She also received a Certificate of Mediation from the University.
Kristi has wide-ranging experience working in a variety of clinical settings, including checking in and routing patients to the right Doctor, verifying patient benefits with insurance programs, and a host of other duties.
Above all, she is responsible for your satisfaction, so she will guide you through a pleasant and fulfilling clinical experience.
Kristi is an avid bike enthusiast and still competes in racing, which she didn’t start until her 39th year! She shares her achievements with her two children, because she wants to show them that “you are never too old or too late to try something new.” But most of all, she enjoys the scenery while riding the roads less travelled!Kristen has a Bachelor of Science degree in Rehabilitation and Disability Services from Northern Illinois University, with an emphasis in health and human sciences.
As an Audiology Lab Assistant, Kristen maintains audiological equipment; cleans, trouble shoots, and repairs hearing aids, and helps with a host of other patient support functions.
Kristen’s previous position was with Central Oregon Radiology Associates, where she was a medical assistant and responsible for both administrative and technical support to patients. While there, she gained valuable experience working with patients in a medical setting, which will be a continuing benefit for our team.
Melisa Zimmerman has her Doctorate in Operations and Management and undergraduate degree in Marketing. Her passion at Pacific Northwest Audiology is to provide an experience that exceeds what is expected in a medical setting.
With years of experience in the hearing healthcare industry and her own personal family experiences, she understands the necessity for better hearing. She is sharing her philosophy with staff at Pacific Northwest Audiology and empowering them to treat each patient on an individualized basis to ensure everyone has a chance to hear the best they can.
In her time outside of the office, her husband Jacob and her have a loving and active family, Riley (15) and Mason (11) that keep them busy and entertained. You'll find her cheering her family on in all sorts of sports and outdoor events.
