Pacific Northwest Audiology a Co-Host at Bend Chamber of Commerce Event

Pacific Northwest Audiology was one of the Co-Hosts at the Business Showcase Fall Into the Holidays Event…hosted by the Bend Chamber of Commerce. This was a very successful event, building on the success of last year’s event. Fall into the Holidays “showcased” Chamber Member businesses and provided a vehicle for widespread networking…getting to know what local businesses are up to. Dr. Li-Korotky (right) and Front Desk Manager Stephanie Roberts (left) set up a display highlighting Pacific Northwest Audiology, and met a lot of wonderful people. We also had a chance to answer a steady stream of questions about the state of high technology hearing loss solutions …and give away a great quantity of locally produced (at Pacific Northwest Audiology) “Chocolate Ears”. Our next door “Booth-mate” was Central Oregon Veterans Outreach (COVO, http://www.covo-us.org/), a laudable organization devoted to serving our Veterans:

  • Outreach to homeless camps of our area
  • Distribute food, clothing, camping supplies, fuel, etc. directly from our office
  • DAV Shuttle Reservation Service to the Portland VA and back
  • File disability claims for vets and fight to get disability levels increased
  • Mail service for homeless vets
  • Bus passes for homeless vets
  • Transitional House (Home of the Brave) for homeless vets
  • Clearinghouse to assist vets receive other services

Josh Korotky (U.S. Army 1966-1969, current VP and Marketing Director of Pacific Northwest Audiology) had a lengthy discussion with Rich Zebrowski (COVO) and learned some disturbing facts about the difficulties that veterans are facing as they reintegrate with our society after separation from the service, including the high rate of homelessness..especially in Bend This organization is managed by volunteers and we encourage you to check out their website…see if you can fit in to their operational goals or make a much needed contribution to help our local vets. We plan to see how we can volunteer our professional services for these efforts, and will let you know in future posts how this works out.
